Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IC Resources is partnering with a UK photonic computing company that is establishing its US operations in Silicon Valley. They are seeking a Staff Analog Design Engineer to lead the analog team, focusing on designing precision mixed signal layers and working closely with the Director of Analog and CTO.
Responsibilities
- Designing the precision mixed signal layer that sits between the photonic compute core and the rest of the chip
- ADC and DAC design, references, biasing, LDOs
- Heater drivers and precision current sources for thermal tuning of photonic components
- Modulator drivers
- Full design cycle from architecture through tape-out and silicon validation
- Advanced CMOS node
Skills
- 8-10+ years of mixed-signal IC design experience in advanced CMOS, with at least one tape-out you led from concept through silicon
- Strong on either data converters or photonic-adjacent driver design
- Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre and AMS verification methodology
- MEng, MSc or PhD in electronic engineering or equivalent
- A generalist profile with breadth across multiple analog and mixed-signal blocks rather than depth in a single one
- Silicon photonics adjacency
- Optical SerDes, coherent receivers, modulator or laser driver design
- Background at Lightmatter, Ayar Labs, Celestial AI, Intel silicon photonics, Marvell Inphi, Cisco Acacia, Nvidia optical group, or Broadcom high-speed SerDes
