Provoke Solutions is seeking an experienced SQL Database & Microsoft Fabric Administrator to provide ticket-based support for Azure SQL and Microsoft Fabric data environments. The role involves monitoring and resolving database incidents while ensuring high-quality service in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, triage, and resolve database support tickets (incidents, service requests, change requests)
- Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and on-premises SQL Server
- Support Fabric workloads including Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Data Pipelines
- Perform routine DBA tasks including performance tuning, index maintenance, backup and restore, patching, and capacity monitoring
- Troubleshoot query performance issues, blocking and deadlocks, and connectivity issues
- Apply security best practices including RBAC, access reviews, and encryption configurations in Azure
- Provide clear ticket documentation and stakeholder updates
- Escalate complex issues and contribute to root cause analysis
- Proactively using Gen AI and Agents at every step of the SDLC to improve quality and speed
Skills
- 3 – 8 years SQL Server DBA experience
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and/or Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Shortcuts)
- Strong T-SQL skills, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or similar observability tools
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
- Strong written communication skills
- Microsoft certifications (DP-300, DP-600, or equivalent)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
- Knowledge of Power BI and integration with Fabric
