Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Shopify Developer to build and optimize high-performing e-commerce storefronts on Shopify and Shopify Plus. The ideal candidate will combine strong front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid) with a solid understanding of UX/UI and e-commerce best practices to deliver scalable, conversion-focused online shopping experiences. This role involves customizing themes, integrating third-party tools, and collaborating with design and product teams to translate requirements into efficient, maintainable solutions. Key Responsibilities • Develop, customize and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. • Implement responsive UI components and ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility to deliver an excellent UX. • Collaborate with designers, product managers and stakeholders to translate wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect storefronts. • Integrate third-party services and apps (payment gateways, analytics, marketing automation, fulfillment) and build custom app integrations when needed. • Optimize site performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices to improve conversion rates and page speed. • Troubleshoot and debug front-end and Liquid template issues, applying best practices for maintainability and scalability. • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment processes and version control workflows (Git). • Support A/B testing, personalization and analytics implementation to inform design and development decisions. • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards. Qualifications • 3+ years of professional experience developing on Shopify and Shopify Plus, including theme development with Liquid. • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including responsive and mobile-first approaches) and modern JavaScript (ES6+). • Demonstrable experience with UI/UX principles and building high-converting e-commerce experiences. • Experience integrating APIs, third-party apps, and headless or hybrid commerce architectures is a plus. • Familiarity with WebFlow or Squarespace is advantageous for quick prototyping or headless front-end work. • Solid understanding of web performance optimization, SEO fundamentals and accessibility standards. • Experience with version control (Git), build tools and deployment workflows. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
