About the Role Our client, a respected environmental consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wildlife Biologist to join their team on a fully remote basis. This vital role will focus on developing and implementing comprehensive wildlife conservation and management plans for a variety of ecological projects. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of wildlife ecology, habitat assessment, and conservation strategies to contribute to significant environmental initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a proven track record in field research, data analysis, and report writing, capable of thriving in a remote work environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct wildlife population surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological impact analyses. Develop and implement scientifically sound wildlife management and conservation plans. Prepare technical reports, environmental impact statements (EIS), and permit applications. Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve conservation goals. Mentor and guide junior biologists and field staff on research methodologies and project execution. Stay current with advancements in wildlife biology, conservation techniques, and relevant legislation. Analyze complex ecological data and develop effective mitigation strategies. Contribute to proposals and business development efforts for new conservation projects. Effectively communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences through written reports and virtual presentations. Requirements Master's or Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Zoology, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in wildlife biology and conservation, with demonstrated project management experience. Expertise in wildlife survey techniques, habitat modeling, and ecological impact assessment. Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS) and GIS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong portfolio of technical reports and publications. Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and lead remote teams effectively. Experience working with federal and state wildlife regulations (e.g., Endangered Species Act). Strong understanding of conservation planning principles and adaptive management. Ability to work flexible hours and occasionally travel for project needs.
