(MTSI) is seeking to hire a Senior Software/Data Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory located at Eglin AFB, FL. The role involves building and maintaining enterprise data architectures, pipelines, and microservices, while collaborating with government stakeholders in a secure cloud environment to enhance the AFRL mission.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining enterprise data architectures, pipelines, and microservices for the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)
- Facilitate operations within a secure cloud environment (DevSecOps)
- Actively collaborate with government stakeholders inside an Agile framework
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are understood and implemented in a way that enhances the AFRL mission to transition new technologies to the warfighter
Skills
- US citizenship and a secret level security clearance
- 5+ years of experience supporting data engineering, software development, analytics, or related technical environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience with Python, SQL, and modern data management practices
- Experience with cloud-native technologies, containerization, or Kubernetes-based environments
- Experience supporting DevSecOps workflows and version control platforms such as Git
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting DoD or Air Force environments
- Experience with object storage platforms such as MinIO or Scality
- Experience with Elasticsearch or metadata tagging/search solutions
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD
- Experience with cloud-native and containerized application environments
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure
- Experience with full-stack software development
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and transition to production environments
