Vaco by Highspring is a global technology firm seeking a Senior Manager in Technical Accounting to lead the technical accounting function. The role involves developing and implementing accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and mentoring the technical accounting team in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex technical accounting topics including ASC 805, ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718 and other transactions
- Lead the development and implementation of companywide accounting policies
- Provide technical guidance, analysis and recommendations to ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Prepare technical accounting analyzes including memos, journal entries, financial statements, footnotes, and audit review
- Help build a comprehensive reporting infrastructure that ensures accurate, cohesive, and timely disclosures across the organization
- Mentor the team responsible for technical accounting and reporting standards, ensuring consistent adherence to U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements worldwide
- Contribute to materials for management, audit committees, and the board
- Direct the preparation of U.S. GAAP-compliant financials and evaluate the impact of new accounting standards
- Research and document accounting positions related to revenue, complex transactions, M&A, equity arrangements, and other key policy areas
- Advise cross-functional partners on the accounting implications of new products, initiatives, and strategic decisions
- Help drive improvements in the monthly and quarterly close cycle to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Lead strategic initiatives aimed at automation, operational enhancement, and reporting optimization
Skills
- Must have CPA and Big 4 public accounting background
- Technical accounting/SEC reporting experience at a public or pre-IPO company in the technology industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of combined experience across audit, SEC reporting, technical accounting, advisory, or national office roles
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP with a track record of preparing technical accounting analyses
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex issues for diverse audiences
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across finance, legal, and operational teams
- Familiarity with IFRS is advantageous
- Technology industry experience highly preferred
- Prior experience with IPO readiness or public-company reporting is highly valued
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
