They are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to develop a deep understanding of the firm’s financial operations and assist in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making as the firm grows.
Responsibilities
- Develop responsibility for the firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, reconciliations, accounts payable, cash management, and financial reporting
- Develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s financial systems, accounting workflows, and operating model
- Support the monthly and annual closing processes while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Create reports and analyses for firm leadership
- Become proficient with the firm’s accounting, practice management, and financial reporting systems
- Continuously improve accounting workflows through automation and technology
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop client matter budgets, track actuals, and improve pricing strategies
- Financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Strategic planning with firm leadership
- Present financial analyses and recommendations directly to firm leadership
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Business intelligence dashboards and KPI development
- Compensation and profitability modeling
- Cash flow forecasting and planning
- AI-driven financial automation
- Long-term financial strategy and operational planning
- Liaison with external tax advisors and financial institutions; ensure compliance with regulatory and tax obligations
- Oversee vendor contracts, insurance, and other firmwide financial obligations, ensuring favorable terms and cost efficiency
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or another highly analytical discipline
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage transactional accounting processes, including accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated record of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity
- Desire to build a long-term career leading the finance function of a growing organization
- High attention to detail and comfort solving ambiguous, practical business problems
- Exceptional Excel Skills Required
- Candidates should have substantial experience using Excel to independently: Build complex financial models, Analyze large datasets and transform it into meaningful analyses, Write advanced formulas, Create dynamic reports and dashboards, Perform lookups, nested formulas, and logical analyses, Use PivotTables, Automate repetitive workflows
- MBA, CPA, or other advanced credentials are a plus
- Approximately 1–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or consulting is preferred, although exceptional recent graduates will also be considered
