The Registry Technician I role involves providing administrative and clerical support to the Cancer Registry functions, including case screening and maintaining data quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with case screening for both automated and manual case-finding processes
- Initiate and/or maintain follow-up and/or outcome information for all cancer cases in registry in accordance with the Hospital and Commission on Cancer (CoC) requirements
- Assist in maintaining data quality assurance
- Assist ODS-C’s as needed
- Assist with all other Cancer Program and Registry activities as needed such as data collection, follow-up, reports, presentations, etc
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Skills
- Some college, college degree preferred
- Courses in medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
- Experience using electronic medical records, any work experience in the oncology field a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office necessary – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience using the Internet as a research tool
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently
- Experience working as part of a team
- Experience working in a Remote environment
- Detail orientated, and organizational skills a plus
- Excellent office skills with knowledge and use of computers and software applications
- Must be computer literate
- Oncology Data Specialist-C or eligible
- HIM Credential – RHIT, CCS, CCA, MT
