Responsibilities
- Lead discovery to understand user needs, workflows, constraints, and opportunities through research and analysis
- Own the detailed design decisions for features end-to-end - from framing the problem to shipping the final interaction, exercising independent judgment on UX trade-offs without waiting to be told
- Identify and frame user and business problems, shaping product goals alongside Product and Engineering
- Design end-to-end user experiences - concepts, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs - with a strong point of view on usability and craft
- Translate insights and requirements into clear, scalable solutions that balance user value, business goals, and technical constraints
- Use Figma AI and other AI-assisted design tools fluently to accelerate exploration, generate variants, and pressure-test ideas
- Maintain and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and reusability across components and patterns
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and internal stakeholders to explore solutions, assess feasibility, and deliver high-quality features
- Communicate design rationale clearly and drive alignment across cross-functional partners
- Plan and conduct validation activities - usability testing, experiments, and iterative refinement
- Advocate for usability, accessibility, and experience quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Support development and launch through design documentation, reviews, and implementation guidance
Skills
- 4+ years of experience designing digital products as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role
- A strong UX foundation - you can defend an interaction choice with reasoning grounded in user behaviour, heuristics, and research, not just aesthetics
- Demonstrated ownership of feature-level design decisions in past roles; comfortable being the decision-maker on the details, not just an executor of someone else's spec
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including hands-on experience with Figma AI features (Make Designs, Make Prototype, First Draft, etc.) and a working fluency with other AI-assisted design tools
- Proven experience designing responsive, accessible web interfaces
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end work - discovery, workflows, design, and shipped features - with clear articulation of the *why* behind each decision
- Experience creating and contributing to scalable design systems
- Proficiency with Jira and standard delivery tooling
- Strong analytical and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience conducting market and user research, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, and usability testing
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work in fast-paced or ambiguous environments
- Experience with SaaS products (B2B or B2C), especially in healthcare, education, or wellness
- Familiarity with data-informed design, experimentation, or metrics-driven decision-making
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
Benefits
- Fully remote, flexible work, with a people-first philosophy
- 3 weeks of vacation and 12 statutory holidays
- 2 wellness days and 5 sick days
- Employer-paid health and dental benefits with HSA
