EmPower Family Wellness Center is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families through education and community connection. They are seeking a creative and dependable Marketing & Communications Assistant to help expand their community presence and communicate their mission through compelling digital content.
Responsibilities
- Create and publish a minimum of two social media posts per week across EmPower's communication platforms
- Develop original content that promotes EmPower's mission, programs, educational resources, and community engagement
- Create promotional content for upcoming events and deliver polished written recaps following completed events
- Design and prepare a monthly email newsletter for distribution to subscribers
- Edit photos and video footage from completed events into engaging digital content for social media, newsletters, and other organizational communications
- Research and cite credible sources when creating educational or informational content
- Produce all content in alignment with EmPower's established brand standards, organizational voice, and communication guidelines, utilizing organizational templates and approved marketing materials as appropriate
Skills
- Graphic design experience is required, including proficiency with Canva or a comparable graphic design platform
- Experience creating engaging content for social media
- Basic photo and video editing skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage work independently
- Reliable internet access and access to a personal computer
- Interest in community engagement, nonprofit work, or family wellness
