Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking a Genomics Program Manager to oversee various projects across the Molecular Genetic and Genomic Pathology laboratories. The role focuses on improving patient health care through innovative genomic methods while collaborating with diverse stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with diverse stakeholders including laboratory leadership and staff, physicians, geneticists, and TDS partners to understand goals, requirements, and timelines
- Managing/coordinating development work of the MGGP program including:
- Clinical operations: Work with Medical Directors, Clinical Scientists and laboratory operation leaders to coordinate and execute various wet and dry laboratory projects, including the launch of new assays, and quality/workflow improvement projects in compliance with regulatory standards
- Identify required resources and effort needed to achieve current and long-term development objectives of the program
- Monitor and track work to ensure completion of project targets and timelines
- Data and Software: Coordinate development and maintenance of analysis pipelines to go from sequencing to annotated variants to interpreted variants to a clinical report, and both in-house and third-party software tools
- HIPAA: Ensuring that IT infrastructure and software/middleware components are HIPAA compliant
Skills
- BS in science, data science, computer science, biomedicine, biocomputational field, or related field
- Eight (8) or more years of related work experience
- Strong project management skills are required
- Communicate complex concepts in an understandable way to different stakeholders
- Anticipate, mediate and resolve problems and issues
- Make decisions with incomplete information and produce results in a timely fashion
- Demonstrate passion and energy for contributing to the growth of personalized medicine at SHC
- Familiarity with scientific software development, data wrangling, data analysis and visualization
- Experience with data management systems such as LIMS, EMR or other similar multi-tiered products
- Working knowledge of laboratory techniques (Genomic sequencing, variant annotation and interpretation, tumor/normal analysis, GWAS) is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of advanced laboratory processes is required
- MS or PhD preferred
- Experience with Epic is preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA / IT security is good to have
