Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Horizon Bank is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to support the preparation of external financial and regulatory reports. The role emphasizes accuracy and timely execution while assisting with compliance-related filings in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual external financial reports, including components of Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Support the preparation and review of regulatory reports, including Call Reports and FR reports
- Apply established accounting guidance and internal policies to recurring reporting activities with appropriate supervision
- Assist with research related to new accounting standards and preparation of draft technical accounting memoranda
- Support documentation and testing related to internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting support to senior leadership
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and analyze financial data under tight reporting deadlines is a critical job function
- Represent the Bank to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face, written and telephone communications
- Accountable for adherence to compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), quality of documentation, timeliness and the ability to exercise prudent judgment for solutions from unexpected situations that arise
- Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information

Skills
- Solid accounting foundation
- Experience with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Ability to prepare quarterly and annual external financial reports, including components of Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Experience in preparing and reviewing regulatory reports, including Call Reports and FR reports
- Ability to apply established accounting guidance and internal policies to recurring reporting activities
