We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Operations Associate to join our team and play a key role in managing our financial operations, overseeing daily financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor cash flow and manage invoicing and payment collections
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial projections
- Track and report on budget performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Support strategic financial planning initiatives
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, expense management, and vendor relations
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Utilize financial software and tools to streamline and automate financial processes
- Provide recommendations for system improvements and enhancements
- Support the implementation of new financial systems and tools
- Work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and objectives
- Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership and stakeholders
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Google Sheet, financial ERP systems)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services industry
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
- Relevant professional certification is a plus
