RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to design and develop high-voltage substation systems for utility and renewable energy projects. The role involves preparing and reviewing various engineering drawings and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-voltage substation systems for utility and renewable energy projects
- Prepare and review:
- Single line diagrams
- Substation plan and elevation drawings
- General arrangement layouts
- Equipment erection drawings
- Construction details
- Develop layouts for:
- High voltage bus and equipment
- Cable routing and conduit systems
- Grounding systems
- Auxiliary power systems
- Control building design
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Skills
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in substation engineering (Transmission & Distribution)
- Proven experience working with electric utilities and renewable energy projects
- Strong expertise in primary (outdoor) substation physical design
- Hands-on experience with AIS and GIS substations
- In-depth knowledge of: IEEE, ANSI standards
- In-depth knowledge of: NEC, NESC codes
- In-depth knowledge of: North American grid standards and best practices
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE preferred)
- Experience supporting major utility clients (e.g., large IOUs)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S
- Or actively working toward obtaining one
- Ability to review, approve, and seal engineering work
