Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Walker Cole International is a fast-growing technology and AI division within a top-tier, global Contract Research Organization. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive new business and build strategic relationships in the biopharma space on the West Coast.
Responsibilities
- Driving new business, identifying, pursuing and closing opportunities across biotech, pharma and government accounts
- Owning and exceeding an annual sales target for your West Coast territory
- Building senior-level relationships with decision-makers across the biopharma space
- Running strategic account plans and a structured client call cycle to build long-term partnerships
- Leading bid defenses, client presentations and site visits to win business
- Feeding market intelligence and competitive insight back to senior leadership
- Working closely with delivery and operations teams to keep client commitments realistic and deals closeable
Skills
- 5–7+ years of business development or sales experience within the Bio-Pharma / life sciences space
- A proven track record selling SaaS and/or AI-as-a-Service products or solutions, ideally into clinical trials or broader biopharma
- An existing network across biotech, pharmaceutical and/or government accounts
- Comfort managing and growing senior-level client relationships end to end
- A consultative, strategic approach, you build win strategies, not just cold-call lists
- Based on the West Coast, with the flexibility to travel to client sites
