Asymchem Clinical (Clin-Nov) is a company focused on biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets, seeking a Director of Business Development to drive new business opportunities and expand client relationships. The role involves articulating clinical development capabilities, developing strategies for new business, and maintaining engagement with existing clients.
Responsibilities
- Clearly articulate Clin-nov’s clinical development capabilities, operational infrastructure and key differentiators to prospective clients across biotech and pharmaceutical sectors
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, target, and secure new business opportunities while achieving or exceeding assigned sales targets
- Generate leads through proactive outreach, industry networking, market intelligence, competitive analysis, and utilization of existing professional relationships
- Build strong relationships with emerging biotech companies as well as established pharmaceutical organizations adapting solutions to fit specific client needs
- Lead and/or support the end-to-end business development process, including:
- Opportunity qualification
- Client meetings and capability presentations
- RFI/RFP responses
- Proposal development
- Budget discussions
- Contract and MSA negotiations
- Coordinate and drive bid defense preparation in collaboration with operational and functional leadership to ensure aligned messaging and strong presentation readiness
- Maintain ongoing engagement with existing clients to support long-term partnerships and drive repeat business
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” internally by communicating market trends, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and emerging business opportunities to senior leadership
- Represent Asymchem Clinical (Clin-nov) at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings to increase company visibility and strengthen brand awareness within the market
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, regulatory, medical, and executive leadership to ensure successful client engagement and solution development
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required
- Minimum 3–5 years of business development experience within the CRO or clinical research industry
- Demonstrated success selling clinical trial services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
- Understanding of innovative drug development and clinical trial processes, including proposal development, budgeting, pricing strategy, and timeline management
- Excellent presentation, communication, networking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with strong executive presence and the ability to effectively engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels and functions
- Highly self-motivated, strategic, and results-oriented, with strong business acumen, problem-solving capabilities, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customers, opportunities, deadlines, and changing business needs simultaneously
- Strong listening skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to think and respond effectively in dynamic customer-facing situations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated accountability, responsiveness, follow-through, and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%, including client meetings, conferences, and industry events
- Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., or Ph.D.)
- Existing network and relationships within the U.S. biotech/pharmaceutical market strongly preferred
