Nakupuna Solutions is looking for a Database Administrator to support the Department of the Navy's efforts for Risk Management Information. The role involves administering and optimizing database environments, ensuring database security, and collaborating with development teams to support application functionality.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments supporting the RMI application
- Install, configure, monitor, and upgrade database management systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance
- Develop and implement database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and perform tuning to maximize efficiency
- Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to support application development, deployment, and maintenance
- Design and implement database structures, indexes, stored procedures, and queries to support application functionality
- Perform database migrations, patching, and upgrades while minimizing system downtime
- Maintain database documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and production releases throughout the software development lifecycle
- Participate in system planning, architecture reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Skills
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

- Tier 3 Clearance and must be a U.S. Citizen

- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
- Experience with Amazon QuickSight
- Current credentials in relevant information technology and software development practices
