They are seeking a Data Scientist to join their Decision Sciences team, responsible for delivering data-driven solutions to optimize their care model and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced mathematical and statistical methods to solve business problems under the supervision of senior data scientists
- Execute exploratory data analysis to validate and quantify trends identified by partner organizations
- Develop insights, visualizations, and other data artifacts that support broader data science initiatives
- Wrangle and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets in a highly repeatable fashion
- Demonstrate strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- 3 years of demonstrated experience conducting statistical analysis and machine learning to answer research or business questions (1+ years if candidate has a Masters or PhD)
- 3 years of experience in SQL and Python programming (1+ years if candidate has a Masters or PhD)
- Demonstrated ability to decompose multi-tier problems into actionable steps
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working with large datasets, analyzing data, and extracting meaningful insights
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to diverse audiences
- A PhD or a Master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in a STEM field such as Operations Research/ Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Google Cloud Computing (GCP)
- Experience with BigQuery
- Experience working with medical data sets
- Experience working with data engineering/MLOps teams to productionalize data science models
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., GitHub) and ML Platforms (e.g., Databricks, GCP Vertex AI, etc.)
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and value-based models of health care
- Familiarity with Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
