The Data Engineering Manager will lead a team of data engineers, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop data pipelines and establish data architecture processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop pipelines and ETL tasks in order to facilitate the extraction of insights
- Establish data architecture processes and practices that can be scheduled, automated, replicated and serve as standards for other teams to leverage. Inform data team strategy by working with the product leaders and managers
- Actively participate in execution and some planning of organizational data team strategy
- Collaborate with Doximity’s Data Leadership team to ensure alignment and success across the entire Data Organization
- Manage individual Data Engineers to foster learning, growth and success at Doximity
Skills
- At least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role
- Experience in creating automated testing, applying design patterns, and other engineering best practices
- Expert in Python and possess fluency in SQL
- Experience managing 3 or more people, accountable for their growth and success as individuals and team members
- Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical people, with an ability to explain complex concepts simply
- Ability to contribute individually, balancing priorities between being a player (i.e. individual contributor) and a coach (i.e. manager or mentor)
- Experience leading several projects from idea generation to planning, execution, through delivering
- Working knowledge of how ML/AI applications are deployed and monitored
