Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Optomi, in partnership with a healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Enterprise Cloud Engineer. The role focuses on providing technical leadership and support for AWS cloud environments while contributing to a multi-cloud strategy and optimizing cloud services.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support AWS cloud infrastructure while contributing to a long-term multi-cloud strategy
- Develop and execute cloud infrastructure delivery strategies, standards, processes, technologies, and tools aligned with organizational objectives
- Contribute to the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions that support rapid and secure software development practices
- Evaluate business and application requirements and provide cloud architecture recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning
- Build, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform and industry best practices
- Develop automation and self-service capabilities that empower application development teams and improve operational efficiency
- Create and support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud-native tooling using GitHub Enterprise and modern DevOps practices
- Apply Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including pull requests, branching strategies, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation
- Establish, implement, and enhance cloud governance frameworks across AWS and GCP environments, including account structures, policies, budgets, security controls, and operational guardrails
- Build and support infrastructure platforms that enable cloud-native applications, microservices, and modern application architectures
- Develop tools and solutions that improve engineering productivity, including automation frameworks, deployment pipelines, container orchestration platforms, and custom cloud applications
- Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments to ensure reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Review existing cloud architectures and operational processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization
- Partner with infrastructure, security, and application development teams to ensure alignment with cloud architecture standards and best practices
- Maintain awareness of emerging cloud technologies, DevSecOps methodologies, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and team members
- Foster a collaborative engineering culture through peer reviews, design sessions, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional partnership
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or related technical roles
- Strong hands-on experience architecting, deploying, administering, and supporting AWS cloud environments
- Experience working within multi-cloud environments, including exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Demonstrated experience implementing cloud governance best practices across AWS and/or GCP
- Strong knowledge of AWS Organizations, Control Tower, account management, governance frameworks, policies, budgets, and security controls
- Hands-on experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience utilizing GitHub Enterprise and applying SDLC best practices, including pull requests, branching strategies, code reviews, version control, and CI/CD workflows
- Experience creating automated and repeatable solutions through scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, cloud security, networking, monitoring, and operational best practices
- Experience designing and supporting cloud-native applications, microservices, and modern infrastructure platforms
- Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments utilizing peer reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional partnerships
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize work effectively, and drive initiatives with limited oversight
- Experience supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) governance and operational frameworks, including Projects, Folders, Policies, and Budgets
- Experience implementing AWS Control Tower, Landing Zones, account vending, and enterprise cloud governance models
- Experience administering or supporting Amazon Connect environments and integrations
- Experience developing reusable Terraform modules, cloud platforms, and self-service infrastructure capabilities
- Experience with container platforms, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and DevSecOps tooling
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Cloud certifications
- Experience helping organizations mature cloud operations, governance programs, and engineering standards within growing cloud environments
