Armstrong World Industries is a leader in the design and manufacture of architectural applications, and they are seeking an Architectural & Design Sales Manager for the Boston metro market. This role involves interacting with architects and designers to influence specifications and achieve sales goals while growing the business and market share.
Responsibilities
- Achieve the territory’s sales goals and grow the business by increasing market share, improving product mix, increasing average unit price, sales, volume, mix, and introducing new products
- Influence people who make the specification decisions and have a positive influence on others’ behavior
- Assist architects and designers in writing specifications for Armstrong Commercial Ceilings, Suspension Systems, Architectural Specialties, and wall systems
- Track projects with the Armstrong team members to establish plans for the sales of Armstrong products in these buildings
- Grow the business and increase market share by creating customer value and competitive advantage
- Learn and continuously improve through individual and team learning and development initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered
- High school diploma required
- 3+ years of architectural sales experience
- Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively manage multiple relationships and priorities
- Ability and experience to plan effectively, both short and long term
- Working knowledge and experience with construction, contracting, and distribution
- Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Windows applications
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license and be eligible to drive for business purposes in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Knowledge of specification sales, market segments, customers, and distribution channels
- Experience with SalesForce
- Proven success in architectural selling
- Strong work ethic, desire to learn, and coachable
