They are looking for an organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide support for an anchor, managing scheduling, coordinating travel, and assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced news environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a constantly evolving calendar of appointments, meetings, and events
- Assist with all on-air guest hosting & appearances, including scheduling of cars, hair & makeup
- Promptly respond to any requests or last-minute demands
- Manage social media accounts and pitch unique content
- Ensure the smooth operation of field shoots and other special projects
- Serve as point person for podcast production, including the booking of podcast guests
Skills
- A strong interest in News
- Administrative experience
- An organized workflow with strong attention to detail
- Overall professionalism, including strong communication skills and work ethic
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information and interact with high-level executives
- Ability to travel
- Understanding that the news never stops, and some work may be required outside regular hours
- Knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture
- Experience with social media analytics
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
