Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SMARTFOX is seeking an experienced Accountant to support client billing, financial operations, and accounting processes. This role focuses on billing, reconciliations, settlements, accounts receivable, and process improvement, requiring strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end client billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual agreements
- Perform billing reconciliations and funding settlements while investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up
- Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues and disputes professionally
- Assist in developing and implementing new accounting processes and workflows
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and client-facing teams to ensure data integrity
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with: Client billing
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Financial operations
- Account reconciliations
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience working in accounting, billing operations, or insurance environments
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues
- Experience supporting process development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Healthcare TPA (Third-Party Administrator) environments
- Experience with client-level reconciliations and funding settlements
- Familiarity with banking, treasury operations, or cash management
