General purpose: We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Reimbursement & Health Economics Consultant with a strong focus on the medical device sector and a proven track record in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market access, and evidence strategy for early-stage companies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep clinical and analytical understanding of complex health economic modeling, evidence synthesis, and medical technology reimbursement pathways. This role involves partnering with client leadership to drive commercial and market access strategy, managing comprehensive value communications for payers and investors, overseeing clinical evidence development, and optimizing financial/market viability to support scalable growth. Responsibilities: Evidence Strategy & Value Communications: Lead the development, maintenance, and synthesis of comprehensive clinical and economic evidence packages—encompassing abstracts, literature reviews, real-world evidence (RWE), and disease-state analyses—to secure payer approvals and empower commercial teams. Craft impactful value stories integrating economic modeling to expedite market entry and enhance stakeholder engagement for new technologies. Payer & Stakeholder Management: Oversee the preparation of accurate, compliant reimbursement submission packages and serve as the primary financial value liaison for payers, investors, board members, and regulatory authorities. Spearhead the financial and health economic preparation for fundraising activities, managing due diligence processes to effectively communicate market viability and investment potential to investors. Health Economic Modeling & Reimbursement Optimization: Actively monitor healthcare coverage patterns, insurance reimbursement policies, and Health Technology Assessments (HTAs) to optimize patient access. Develop and implement rigorous cost-effectiveness and budget impact forecasting models to provide clear visibility into a product’s long-term commercial runway. Operational Excellence & Technology: Review and optimize clients' market access infrastructures, systems, and controls to ensure scalability and compliance with industry regulations. Stay informed on and leverage emerging technologies—including AI-driven evidence generation—to drive innovation within the market access function. Market Research & Business Development: Serve as the subject matter expert on healthcare compliance, payer policies, and coverage incentives specific to the medtech sector, including niche fields like pediatric medtech and rare diseases. Actively support business development initiatives by responding to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs with well-researched, creative presentations. Strategic Client Management: Collaborate with executive management to design and execute market access strategies that align with the client’s long-term growth objectives. Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities to provide additional value or services that support the client’s specific growth stage in the medical device sector. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare or management consulting. Minimum of 5 years in a senior health economics, market access, or reimbursement role within medtech or medical device. Previous experience working with early-stage companies, healthcare startups, and medical device commercialization is highly preferred. Advanced proficiency in health economic modeling, data analysis, and the synthesis of complex clinical data sets. Demonstrated experience in crafting payer coverage analyses, value dossiers, and executing evidence strategies that successfully support product coverage and patient accessibility. A clinical background (e.g., direct patient care, clinic management, or working directly with medical device technology) is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical, economic, and regulatory information to diverse audiences, including
