Physical Therapy Medical Biller

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Medical Biller, where your expertise will be vital in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for our physical therapy clients. In this role, you will be responsible for submission of claims, posting payments, working denials and appeals, sending patient statements, assisting with insurance verifications and authorization And other duties as requested. Your attention to detail and knowledge of physical therapy medical coding and billing systems will directly contribute to the financial health of our business and the quality of care our clients provide to their patients. Duties • Review claims for correct coding and modifiers for physical therapy services. • Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring compliance with payer requirements. • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, resolving discrepancies promptly. • Post insurance and patient payments to accounts. • Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations affecting billing processes. • Generate detailed reports on billing activities, claim status, and revenue cycle performance to inform practice management decisions. Qualifications • Proven experience in medical billing within a physical therapy or outpatient setting is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to physical therapy, and Payer rules. • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical office software is essential. • Experience with medical collection processes and resolving claim denials efficiently. • Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately for precise billing purposes. • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in all billing activities. • Prior experience in a healthcare environment involving medical coding or insurance reimbursement is a plus.
