Job role: PeopleSoft Payroll Functional Duration: 1 week Location: Remote Overall Need: • From the UI/HR side, the client believes this is primarily a functional configuration task. • They need to configure new earning codes related to the Big Beautiful Bill (federal) updates, particularly around overtime (OT) (tips are uncertain at this time). • The W-2 form is already updated; the main remaining task is ensuring the correct earning codes are configured so they flow properly into tax definitions and W-2 reporting. Functional Configuration Scope • Primary task is configuring earning codes in the Earnings Code Table. • These earning codes must: • Be selectable in tax definitions • Appear correctly on employee W-2 forms • Be configured with proper Finance/General Ledger (GL) mappings • The client may also need: • Written configuration specs • Validation to ensure new earning codes do not impact other systems Current System Environment • PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 - Payroll module • Payroll processes are already established and functioning. • System has been in use for approximately 10 years and is stable. • Backend tax definitions are already in place. • If earning codes are configured correctly, the system should support the required updates. Business & Payroll Impact Considerations • Client is not fully certain how the changes will impact daily payroll operations. • It is unclear: • Whether tips apply to their workforce • Whether union employees are affected • Whether there are penalties tied to compliance timing this year • They do know that overtime (OT) earnings are applicable. Documentation & Knowledge Gap • The HR team believes they could follow documentation, but: • They do not want to be responsible for the configuration alone. • They want an experienced SME/Functional resource to: • Guide them step-by-step • Show how to configure earning codes properly • Train HR staff on usage • Provide oversight and validation Testing Support Needed After configuration, the resource will need to: • Support testing of new earning codes • Validate that payroll results are accurate • Ensure changes do not negatively impact payroll or reporting After: May also need help on Age 50 extension: it's a new policy that came in Soft skills - be very patient, be focused and guide the team - and can push back Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
