About The Role The Payment Card Support & Data Analyst role at CITGO is a dynamic position that combines traditional reconciliation responsibilities with a focus on data analytics, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter capable of managing high-volume transaction data, supporting analytics initiatives, and driving sustainable improvements. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in analytics and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication across departments. Key responsibilities include managing relationships with POS vendors, supporting escalations related to POS and payment processing issues, and ensuring seamless transaction reconciliation. The candidate will analyze transactional logs to identify potential issues related to customer transactions, network errors, or payment processor discrepancies, and develop plans to resolve these issues promptly. Additionally, the role involves supporting sales and marketing teams in onboarding new locations, transferring existing ones, and assisting with branding activities, ensuring that POS and settlement processes are optimized to prevent financial or reputational damage. The position demands critical thinking, independent judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, all while maintaining a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree. • Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables and advanced formulas), SQL, and reconciliation software. • Experience with dashboard and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and educating non-technical users. • Experience with POS hardware/software and familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP. • Knowledge of PCI compliance and financial audit standards. • Experience with automation tools like Power Automate or Alteryx is a plus. • Understanding of payment processors and POS systems, especially in retail or petroleum environments. • Relevant technical certifications related to POS hardware/software are advantageous. • Retail operations experience is helpful but not mandatory. • Additional exposure to data science tools or scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or Power BI is preferred. Responsibilities • Gather, cleanse, and preprocess data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency for analysis. • Prepare datasets through merging, normalization, and transformation to support analytical efforts. • Conduct basic data analysis and generate reports that aid in strategic decision-making. • Create and maintain dashboards and visual reports using Power BI or similar tools to communicate insights effectively. • Support data science tasks such as pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and data cleansing. • Investigate discrepancies related to pre-authorizations, chargebacks, refunds, and settlement delays, ensuring timely resolution. • Review and reconcile CITGO’s Gift Card Program to ensure accurate financial postings. • Monitor and support POS transaction processing, working closely with POS vendors and internal teams to resolve escalations. • Maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation procedures, workflows, and analytical models for team reference and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to facilitate onboarding, transfers, branding, and debranding of locations. • Proactively identify potential POS and settlement issues to prevent financial or reputational impacts on CITGO and its partners.Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
