We are looking for an experienced Patient Care Coordinator to support our healthcare practice remotely. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive timely, professional, and compassionate support from scheduling through to care follow-up.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage patient appointments and provider calendars
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain preauthorizations
Communicate with patients via email regarding appointments, referrals, and follow-ups
Enter and maintain accurate patient records in EMR/EHR systems
Escalate urgent clinical matters to the appropriate provider promptly
Manage patient inquiries and provide excellent customer support
Maintain and update records in CRM software
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Patient Care Coordinator or Medical Virtual Assistant
Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR platforms (DrChrono, Cliniko, or similar)
Strong knowledge of insurance verification and preauthorization
Mandatory knowledge of HIPAA compliance
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have:
Experience with DrChrono or Cliniko
Background in a virtual or remote healthcare setting
