The Paid Social Creative Strategist owns the performance and direction of creative across paid social campaigns.
This role is responsible for translating data into clear creative strategy-defining what creative should be produced, why it will perform, and how it should be tested. You will proactively analyze performance, identify trends, and build structured creative testing roadmaps that drive measurable improvement.
Working closely with Paid Social Strategists, Creative teams, and Data teams, this role ensures that creative is not only executed effectively, but continuously optimized to improve business outcomes.
This is an ideal role for someone who is both analytical and strategic, with a strong understanding of performance marketing and a passion for creative testing.
What You'll Own
Creative performance insights and analysis
Creative testing roadmap and experimentation strategy
Creative direction (hooks, formats, messaging, concepts)
Campaign-level creative strategy aligned to funnel stages
Creative input into reporting and client narratives
Core Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Direction
Translate performance data into clear creative direction (hooks, angles, formats, concepts)
Define creative strategy for campaigns (e.g., promotions, seasonal moments, launches)
Align creative to funnel stages (prospecting, retargeting, retention)
Recommend asset mix (static, video, UGC, etc.) based on performance trends
Reduce reliance on Paid Social Strategists for creative decision-making
Creative Performance Analysis
Proactively analyze creative performance using platform data and internal tools
Identify trends across assets, audiences, and formats-not just individual ad performance
Partner with Data teams to uncover scalable insights across accounts
Deliver ongoing insights: what's working, what's not, and what to test next
Creative Testing & Roadmap Ownership
Own and maintain the creative testing roadmap
Define testing priorities (hooks, messaging, formats, offers, etc.)
Ensure structured testing frameworks are consistently executed
Track results and translate learnings into future creative strategy
Planning & Execution Support
Own the creative portion of campaign briefs and production requests
Build structured creative plans for campaigns and testing cycles
Ensure creative output aligns with strategic direction and testing goals
Collaborate with Creative teams to bring concepts to life effectively
Reporting & Insights
Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting with insight-led narratives
Partner with Data teams to identify and communicate creative trends at scale
Present clear, actionable recommendations-not just performance metrics
Support client-facing materials with creative insights and strategic direction
Meetings & Collaboration
Participate in internal and client calls, contributing creative insights and recommendations
Own the creative portion of agendas and discussions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Media, Creative, and Data teams
Ongoing Optimization
Develop and maintain creative playbooks for each client
Document learnings to inform future strategy and scaling opportunities
Continuously refine creative approach based on performance data and testing outcomes

Requirements
3–5 years of experience in paid social, performance creative, or growth marketing
Strong understanding of performance creative and conversion-focused marketing
Experience analyzing creative performance and identifying actionable insights
Ability to translate data into clear creative direction
Strong copywriting and messaging skills
Experience working with cross-functional teams (media, creative, data)
Nice to Have
Experience with creative testing frameworks and experimentation
Familiarity with tools like Motion, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager
Experience in DTC or performance-driven environments
Not Responsible For
Media buying, budgeting, or pacing decisions
Full account strategy ownership (Paid Social Strategist leads)
Direct management of creative production teams
