Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor/Therapist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide essential mental health and addiction counseling services to diverse populations, mainly adults, and seniors. Duties
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
• Provide individual and crisis intervention therapy using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Implement motivational interviewing techniques to encourage behavioral change and enhance treatment engagement.
• Deliver specialized counseling to individuals with Mental Health Disorders, Substance Use Disorders and patients experiencing PTSD or grief.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management strategies and behavior management techniques to ensure client safety.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records and documentation with accuracy in medical terminology while adhering to confidentiality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• May facilitate intake sessions for new clients, develop personalized treatment plans, and monitor progress through ongoing patient assessment.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling sessions while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Qualifications
• Preferred, Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent state credentialing.
• Or LAAC, CADC, and SAP with CHW credentials.
• Proven experience in mental health counseling or substance abuse treatment within outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health modalities including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and psychopharmacology principles.
• Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic documentation.
• Experience working with diverse adult populations,individuals with disabilities or geriatrics, and those facing gender issues counseling.
• Competence in crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding medical records and patient confidentiality.

Pay: $60.00 - $600.00 per week
