Medical Science Liaison - MSL - Rare Oncology

Salary: $200-240k Base (depending on experience) plus bonus Location: NorthEast down to NC plus parts of Midwest We are partnered with a rapidly growing, commercial-stage biotech focused on advancing precision medicines for patients with rare, genomically defined cancers. With an approved therapy on the market and a developing pipeline, this is an opportunity to join a high-impact, collaborative Medical Affairs team at an exciting stage of growth. This is a field-based Medical Science Liaison role covering the East Coast. You will serve as a key scientific partner to the external medical community while helping shape and execute medical strategy in a highly visible, cross-functional environment. You’ll engage directly with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and healthcare professionals, driving scientific exchange, supporting clinical development, and bringing critical insights back to the organization. Responsibilities • Build and maintain strong, peer-to-peer relationships with oncology KOLs and healthcare stakeholders • Lead scientific exchange around clinical data, disease state, and product information in a compliant manner • Support clinical trial activities, including site engagement and investigator-initiated studies • Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams • Gather and synthesize field insights to inform strategy and decision-making • Represent the organization at medical congresses, advisory boards, and scientific meetings • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries and serve as a trusted scientific resource internally and externally What We’re Looking For • Advanced degree: PhD, PharmD, or MD • 2+ years of MSL / field medical experience in pharma/biotech • Oncology experience preferred • Strong ability to engage clinically and scientifically with external experts • Experience working in cross-functional, fast-paced environments (biotech/startup experience a plus) • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex data clearly • Willingness to travel (~50–60%) within the region Why This Opportunity • Commercial-stage biotech with an approved product and expanding pipeline • High visibility and ability to shape medical strategy • Lean, collaborative team with strong leadership access • Opportunity to make a real impact in rare oncology, where unmet need is high How To Apply We’d love to see your resume, but we don’t need it to have a conversation.
