About the position
Mad Science of DC is looking for enthusiastic individuals to serve as Summer Camp Counselors. This role is ideal for college students looking for a dynamic and engaging summer job. Counselors will lead groups of campers through exciting science experiments and hands-on projects, fostering curiosity and providing a memorable experience. The position offers competitive pay, valuable leadership experience, and a flexible schedule, allowing for a fulfilling summer break.
Responsibilities
• Lead a squad of campers (ages 6-12) through mind-blowing experiments and hands-on projects.
• Facilitate activities such as launching projectiles and creating chemical reactions.
• Engage campers and keep activities exciting.
• Work outdoors and indoors with a high-energy team.
• Potentially work before care (8-9am) and after care (4-6pm) at various locations.
Requirements
• Outgoing personality with the ability to lead a group and maintain excitement.
• Must be mobile with a reliable vehicle and a valid license to travel to sites across the DC Metro area (VA/MD/DC).
• Availability to work most weeks until August 21.
• Ability to work M-F, 9am - 4pm, with potential before and after care hours.
Nice-to-haves
• Ideal for STEM, Education, Psych, and Management majors seeking resume-building experience.
• No science degree is required, as full training is provided.
