Machine Operator (Extrusion)

Machine Operator will set up and operate the extrusion line to produce plastic sheets that meet customer specifications, ensuring accurate feed rates, quality output, and proper machine performance. Machine operator maintains strict safety standards, monitors for defects or malfunctions, completes production documentation, and supports overall manufacturing operations through cross-training and teamwork
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Set up, start, and operate thermoplastic extrusion equipment in accordance with customer specifications and work order requirements
Load raw materials into extruders and adjust feed mechanisms to maintain accurate feed rates
Monitor and control machine settings to ensure proper extrusion processes and product dimensions
Continuously observe equipment operation, control panels, and gauges to identify material defects or mechanical issues
Safely shut down equipment upon job completion or when malfunctions occur.
Accurately complete work orders and production documentation
Maintain constant attention to equipment operation to ensure a safe working environment
Participate in cross-training across production floor roles to develop a comprehensive understanding of processes
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Machine Operator Qualifications:
High school diploma/ GED
3+ years’ experience as a Machine Operator
Tow motor driving experience
Ability to read/understand specifications
Ability to read measuring devices such as ruler, caliper, dial indicator, micrometer, tape measure, and scale
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs
Machine Operator Additional Skills:
Experience in a plastics environment
Knowledge of plastic sheet extrusion process
Forklift certified
Basic computer skills
