Hours: 6.5 Hours per Day, 180 Days per Year

This position will begin with the 2023-24 school year.

This position is based on student/program need. Hours may increase or decrease as necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Intervention Paraeducator will be responsible for carrying through prescribed instructional programs and supporting special education students district wide. This person will work under the direction of, and in cooperation with, special education administration, current Intervention Team Specialists, building principals, and special education teachers. Intervention Paraeducators will be responsible for tutoring, modeling, and meeting with special education students on an individual basis to implement, monitor, and evaluate intervention strategies. They will work closely with the Intervention Team Specialists to collaborate with staff in order to support and model appropriate school interventions. The paraeducator will be involved in keeping documentation to help monitor the student's progress. The paraeducator will perform all duties of the position within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures. Other job-related duties will be performed as assigned.
