We're growing our originator base nationally — and we're hiring the recruiter who's going to help us get there.
The Role
As our Loan Officer Recruiter, you'll be responsible for growing C2's originator network by identifying, engaging, and recruiting experienced loan officers who are ready for a better platform. This role is part recruiter, part salesperson — you'll be pitching C2's value proposition to producing originators who have options, and you'll need to do it credibly. Success is measured by placements, production, and retention. If you like the hunt, love building relationships, and know the mortgage industry, this role was built for you.
What You'll Do
Sourcing & Pipeline DevelopmentDevelop and execute a proactive sourcing strategy to identify experienced loan originators across target markets via LinkedIn, industry events, referral networks, mortgage data sources, and direct outreach
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective originators at every stage — from initial contact through signed agreement and platform activation
Stay current on competitive intelligence across the broker and lender landscape: compensation structures, lender networks, technology offerings, and recruiting tactics at competitor platforms
Represent C2 at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Recruiting & Relationship ManagementPresent C2's value proposition to prospective originators: 100+ wholesale lenders, technology platform, support model, compensation economics, and culture
Conduct structured discovery conversations to understand candidates' current production, business model, pain points, and goals
Guide prospective originators through the full recruiting funnel — from first call through licensing, agreement, and onboarding handoff
Coordinate with production leadership, licensing, compliance, technology, and onboarding teams to address candidate questions and remove friction
Reporting & OperationsManage the recruiting pipeline in C2's CRM or ATS, maintaining accurate records of all interactions, status updates, and outcomes
Track and report on recruiting metrics: pipeline volume, conversion rates, time-to-signed, and post-placement production and retention
Partner with the Client Experience and onboarding functions to ensure a smooth handoff and strong early experience for newly recruited originators
What We're Looking For
Required3+ years of professional experience in recruiting, sales, business development, or a closely related field
Demonstrated ability to manage a relationship pipeline from initial outreach through close, with measurable results
Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can credibly represent a financial services platform to experienced professionals
Comfortable with high-volume outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other digital channels
Self-directed, results-oriented, and data-disciplined — you live in your CRM and use pipeline data to manage your activity
Nice to HaveDirect mortgage industry experience, particularly in the wholesale or broker channel
Prior experience recruiting loan originators, financial advisors, insurance producers, or other licensed sales professionals
Active NMLS license or strong familiarity with NMLS licensing and transfer processes
Established network of loan originators or mortgage industry professionals
Familiarity with mortgage technology platforms — LOS, pricing engines, or mortgage-specific CRMs
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Compensation & Details
Base Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 (base is designed to beliveable — this role earns on performance)
Variable / Commission: Significant; tied to LO placements and ongoing production — uncapped for top performers
OTE: $90,000 – $180,000+ for strong performers
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Location: San Diego, CA (HQ) | Remote or Hybrid considered for the right candidate
