I am seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Legal Secretary, assistant or young Associate to join my practice as a solo attorney, formerly with a major DTLA law firm, but on my own with a very nice office at the beach. My suite has a separate, fully-equipped office, with a new computer for whomever I hire. . This role offers an opportunity to support a variety of legal practice areas, including a wide variety of civil litigation matters, and potential for a long term position. My last two assistants are now Partners at major law firms in DTLA and NYC. The ideal candidate will be organized, and possess strong drafting skills to assist in organizing significant litigation cases efficiently. This position is essential in ensuring smooth legal operations and delivering exceptional service to clients through meticulous document management, (possibly some legal research; but not mandatory), and administrative support. Proficiency in Word is mandatory, familiarity with Westlaw, Dropbox and other software a plus, but also not mandatory • Provide administrative support, including light scheduling appointments, and organizing some calendars; although case load is and focuses on larger litigation matters. • Possibly (though not mandatory) some minor research using Westlaw, Google, and organizing documents with Dropbox or similar programs. • Possibly, some review, of legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence. Mandatory: use of Word to prepare TOCs, TOAs, documents with columns etc. • Manage legal case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all files are organized and up-to-date. • Assist with client interviews and gather pertinent information for case development while maintaining confidentiality; assist in deposition preparations. • Maintain professional communication via phone etiquette with clients, courts, and staff of opposing counsel. • Light office maintenance and, sporadically, meeting and greeting clients. • Proven legal administrative experience supporting multiple litigation practice areas. • Familiarity with document management systems like iManage or PCLaw is highly desirable, and creation of case timelines using the appropriate softwar and ongoing review of the same. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with legal case management software and data entry tasks related to litigation work. • Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, record keeping, and general administrative support confidently.
