About the Role
The GL, Reporting, IC & FA Team Leader is responsible for managing end-to-end Record-to-Report processes, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and fixed asset management. The role ensures accurate and timely financial close, compliance with accounting standards, and strong internal controls while driving standardization and continuous improvement in a global shared services environment.
Your Team
This role reports into the Manager, Finance position and has 8-10 direct reports.
What You Will Do
1. General Ledger (GL) Accounting
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments
Ensure balance sheet integrity through regular account reconciliations
Monitor and resolve open items in GL accounts
2. Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Support internal and external reporting requirements, including management reports
Coordinate with corporate finance for consolidation and group reporting
Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and insights
3. Intercompany (IC) Accounting
Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
Ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances across entities
Investigate and resolve mismatches and out-of-balance conditions
Coordinate with global counterparts to ensure alignment and closure
4. Fixed Assets (FA) Management
Manage asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and retirements
Ensure assets are recorded in compliance with accounting policies
Review asset in-service dates and capitalization timelines
Conduct periodic asset verification and support audits
5. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of R2R analysts
Allocate responsibilities, monitor workloads, and ensure SLA adherence
Conduct performance reviews and drive skill development initiatives
Ensure cross-training and process backup readiness
6. Stakeholder Management
Act as a key contact for business units, auditors, and corporate finance teams
Manage escalations and provide resolutions on complex accounting issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, FP&A, Tax, Treasury)
7. Process Improvement & Transformation
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and standardization
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma)
Support transitions, migrations, and system implementations (e.g., ERP rollouts)
Enhance close cycle efficiency (fast close initiatives)
8. Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and internal policies
Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance
Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audits
Maintain proper documentation and process maps
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CA preferred)
7–12 years of experience in R2R operations
4–5 years of experience in team leadership within a global/shared services setup
Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
Strong understanding of Accounting Principles - IFRS
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience in shared service center (SSC)/GBS environment
Exposure to global transitions and process migrations
Lean / Six Sigma certification
Experience with automation tools (RPA, BlackLine, etc.)
Knowledge of multi-country statutory and reporting requirements
