Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Laboratory Director to lead our cutting-edge research and clinical laboratory operations. Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for all laboratory operations, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis.
• Manage laboratory staff, including supervising technicians and scientists, to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) to ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), CAP (College of American Pathologists), and other relevant accreditation bodies.
• Develop and enforce quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols to uphold the integrity of all assays—including ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, DNA/RNA extraction, and blood sampling procedures.
• Coordinate with clinical teams on specimen collection techniques like venipuncture and phlebotomy, ensuring proper handling to maintain sample integrity.
• Lead efforts in assay development for clinical trials and research projects while managing schedules to meet project deadlines.
• Oversee data management activities related to laboratory testing results, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality using document management systems.
• Maintain thorough documentation of laboratory procedures, compliance records, and training activities for audit readiness.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through staff training in aseptic techniques, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and laboratory best practices.
Requirements
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a clinical or research laboratory environment with supervisory responsibilities.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with laboratory techniques such as ELISA, PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, flow cytometry, immunoassays, blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen processing.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology concepts, anatomy principles related to blood sampling and vital signs measurement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory information systems (LIMS) and document management systems effectively.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), QA/QC procedures, compliance standards (CLIA/CAP), and regulatory requirements governing clinical laboratories.
• Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data collection and interpretation in clinical trials or research settings.
• Effective leadership qualities with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments such as hospitals or research institutions.
• Knowledge of hospital workflows related to specimen collection/processing and clinical procedures like phlebotomy or blood sampling.
• Strong organizational skills for schedule management and document control; ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Pay: $59,160.49 - $71,247.04 per year
