Remote | Freelance | $30,000 - $50,000 About the Role An award-winning independent media platform producing English-language coverage of Lebanon, Palestine, the Middle East, and international affairs is hiring a Content Producer and Platform Manager for its fast-growing geopolitics podcast. The platform is led by a multi-award-winning filmmaker, journalist, and human rights activist whose documentary won the Movie That Matters Award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and over 30 international prizes. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who thrives behind the scenes in independent media. The Content Producer will serve as the host's editorial partner, researching guests, writing interview briefs, shaping the direction of the show, and managing end-to-end podcast production. The role also includes managing and growing social media platforms, writing captions and copy in the host's voice, coordinating content clips from episodes, and overseeing a small team of freelancers including a video editor, designer, translator, social media manager, engagement manager, and web developer. A strong fit for a values-driven media professional who believes in independent journalism, is passionate about world affairs and the Middle East, and prefers to do excellent work without needing the spotlight. What the Role Covers • End-to-end podcast production: scheduling, research, briefing, recording coordination, and post-production management • Writing episode notes, interview briefs, and research summaries • Managing and growing social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube • Writing captions, scripts, and copy across all platforms in the host's voice • Coordinating social media shorts, clips, and content grabs from episodes • Developing and managing a consistent content calendar with the social media manager • Identifying guest opportunities, story angles, and trending topics in geopolitics and world affairs • Coordinating a small team of freelancers across video editing, design, translation, social media, engagement, and web development Qualifications • Strong writer with a background in journalism, editorial, TV production, or content • Experience in podcast or broadcast media production • Experience managing social media platforms professionally • Genuine interest in geopolitics, world affairs, and the Middle East • Highly organized and self-directed • Behind-the-scenes personality motivated by the work, not the spotlight • Comfortable working remotely and communicating asynchronously • Reliable, discreet, and trustworthy • Arabic language skills an advantage but not essential To Apply • Visit Mediabistro for full details and application instructions.
