IT Business Analyst for Supply Chain & Merchandising (Retail)

Location: Remote (fully remote for non-locals but local staff goes 1 day/week onsite in San Francisco, CA near BART,) Our client is seeking an IT Business Analyst (Contract position) to support Supply Chain and Merchandising initiatives for a global retail organization. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, identify opportunities for operational improvement, and support technology and data-driven projects for merchandising operations. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Planning, and IT stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. • Create business requirements documents, user stories, and functional specifications. • Support system implementations, enhancements, testing, and user acceptance activities. • Develop reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking to improve business performance and decision-making. • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure alignment between business and IT teams. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor''''''''s degree in Business or Supply Chain or Information Systems or a related field. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is preferred. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Some Business Analyst experience in merchandising, supply chain (preferably retail). • Some experience with retail planning, merchandising, inventory, or supply chain processes. • Experience working in multinational retail environments. • Familiarity with ERP, merchandising or supply chain platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, or similar solutions. • Agile project experience and knowledge of data analytics methodologies.
