Job Summary: As an Insurance Underwriter – Excess & Specialty, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Key Responsibilities:
• Leverage your extensive underwriting expertise to evaluate complex commercial and specialty risk scenarios in the US insurance market.
• Analyze, interpret, and structure coverage for excess and specialty lines, focusing on liability, umbrella, and unique risk categories.
• Assess policy language and provide nuanced feedback on policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
• Identify risk factors, apply sound underwriting judgement, and ensure compliance with industry standards and insurance regulations.
• Support the development of AI training data by contributing real-world insights on underwriting practices and coverage operations.
• Collaborate in a remote environment, providing clear, effective written and verbal communication to enhance AI system understanding.
• Share insight into evolving trends, emerging risks, and innovations within specialty and excess insurance lines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 4–5+ years of hands-on underwriting experience in commercial lines, specialty insurance, excess casualty, or umbrella products.
• In-depth understanding of commercial P&C, liability coverage, and policy evaluation best practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in policy interpretation, insurance compliance, and comprehensive coverage analysis.
• Experience working with insurance operations in complex or specialty risk environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate nuanced underwriting concepts.
• Proven track record within the US insurance market or with US-based clients and frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior exposure to emerging risk types, complex liability structures, or innovative coverage solutions within excess & specialty lines.
• Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams or contributing to process improvement initiatives in insurance operations.
