Job description: The Manager of Gallery Teaching represents the foundational and transformational importance of facilitated gallery experiences that cultivate social justice discussions at the de Young and the Legion of Honor. The focus on the craft of facilitation provides a rich and impactful space to cultivate the next generation of museum professionals who amplify the importance of equity and inclusion. The Manager of Gallery Teaching will steward and augment the Interpretation and Outreach Associates Program as well as contribute to department wide training efforts for volunteer Gallery Guides. This position also provides oversight for and is an essential stakeholder in managing and developing our summer internship program.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop consolidated training modules that implement visitor centered approaches that advance social justice narratives positioning the museum as a place for constructive dialogue. Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in art history, education, or museum studies

Work Experience: Five years of work experience in youth development with a focus on art or similar field. Must include experience with supervising staff.

Skills and Abilities: This position is on a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision and 401(k), and paid time off. This position is eligible for a hybrid onsite/remote schedule.

The annual salary range for this position is $77,000-90,000. The final offer amount within this range will be based on experience and internal equity.
