Role Description
This is a remote position. Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Medical Billing & Credentialing Virtual Assistant on behalf of a growing mental health counseling practice. This role will provide administrative, billing, credentialing, and insurance support to help ensure smooth operations across a large team of providers. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working with billing processes, therapist credentialing, patient communication, and administrative workflows. Key Responsibilities
• Billing & Insurance Support
• Review client billing and insurance billing activities
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on billing-related issues
• Generate and format billing-related documentation and reports
• Follow up on unpaid claims and billing discrepancies
• Track and update expired insurance information
• Support insurance-related administrative processes
• Assist with maintaining accurate billing records
• Credentialing Support
• Follow up on therapist credentialing applications and renewals
• Monitor credentialing status and communicate updates to providers
• Maintain organized credentialing records and documentation
• Coordinate with credentialing organizations and insurance networks as needed
• Track deadlines and ensure timely follow-up
• Administrative Support
• Manage email correspondence and ticketing systems
• Set up and maintain email accounts and fax accounts
• Monitor and organize incoming communications
• Manage electronic records and administrative documentation
• Perform data entry and generate reports as needed
• Assist with operational and process-improvement initiatives
• Patient & Provider Support
• Respond professionally to patient inquiries via phone and email
• Assist with insurance and billing-related questions
• Communicate effectively with providers and administrative staff
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
• Support a positive patient experience through timely and professional communication
Qualifications
• Experience in medical billing, insurance billing, or healthcare administration
• Experience with provider credentialing or willingness to learn credentialing processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Comfortable communicating with patients, providers, and insurance representatives
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability
• Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
