About the Role You will work as a fully bilingual (English-Spanish) Health Content Specialist and Medical Librarian on an established federal contract, collaborating with a product owner, content strategist, and cross-functional team including copywriters, designers, and UX specialists to support a large government website. This role focuses on translating, organizing, and managing health content, requiring strong familiarity with medical terminology as well as excellent writing and editing skills in both languages. The ideal candidate is proactive, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and brings a solid understanding of digital translation best practices. Location: This position is fully remote within the contiguous United States. Responsibilities • Translate health content from English into Spanish, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across digital channels. • Research, validate, and apply current medical and scientific information from authoritative sources to ensure content accuracy. • Edit and review content in both English and Spanish languages to align with style guides, governance standards, and plain language best practices. • Apply appropriate tone, voice, and language style to effectively reach diverse Spanish-speaking audiences, including U.S. Hispanic and Latino communities. • Maintain and organize content using taxonomies, metadata, and content management best practices to support usability and accessibility. • Update, revise, and create health topics and medical test content based on the latest clinical guidelines and agency standards. • Ensure content repositories and database entries are accurate, current, and compliant with established policies and procedures. • Collaborate in an Agile, cross-functional team to support development and continuous improvement of a consumer health website. • Provide Spanish-language and health content expertise to ensure content is accurate, culturally sensitive, and user-centered. • Support SEO efforts, including translation and optimization of metadata and title tags. • Assist with Spanish-language social media content and responses to health-related inquiries as needed. • Support coordination and information sharing across Spanish-language programs and partner organizations. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain/maintain a public trust clearance. • Librarianship – Master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association. May be substituted for equivalent experience. • Fluent ability to read, write, and speak both Spanish and English in a business/professional setting and at the consumer level. Professional experience in a bilingual setting is desired. • Subject matter expertise in public health or health information with at least 2 years’ experience in public health or health information. • At least 1 year of experience with evaluating health information. • Experience with consumer-level health information in English and Spanish. Awareness of culturally-appropriate Spanish for the U.S. Hispanic and Latino community. • Ability to work in a database or content management system. • Strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to translate scientific or technical information into clear, user-friendly language. • An understanding of the users of consumer-level health information and the importance of plain-language and clearly written materials. • Demonstrated expertise in search and retrieval using medical information systems, preferably NLM systems (PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov) and familiarity with Medical Subjec Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
