What is the role?
We’re hiring a Government Contract Bid Writer to support proposals for state, local, education and some federal government contracts. This role is ideal for a writer interested in government contracting, proposal development, and client-facing work, with strong support from our internal Contract Success Lab backend team.
You’ll help clients identify contract opportunities, support bid strategy discussions, review bid documents, come up with a strategy, build out bid documents and contribute to high-quality, compliant proposal submissions.
What You’ll Do
- Writing and editing of government proposals (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs)
- Draft sections such as company capabilities, management approach, and past performance
- Review solicitations to identify requirements, deadlines, and submission instructions
- Maintain compliance checklists and response matrices with CSL guidance
- Assist with proposal formatting and submission readiness
- Participate in client meetings alongside the Contract Success team
- Help review contract opportunities and document fit, risks, and timelines
- Track multiple bids and clients using internal tools
What We’re Looking For
- 6 months–2 years of experience in proposal, technical, or structured writing
- Project Management skills are required

- Comfort participating in client-facing meetings
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, CRM and AI tools
- Ability to both work independently and cross-functionally in a remote environment
Pay & Contract Details
Hourly Rate: $28.85-31.25/hour based on experience
Commission: Paid for bids won
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Remote
Workload: Project-based with potential for ongoing work
