Remote in NC. We are seeking a GIS Specialist – Junior to support the team’s data compilation and validation work. The role involves creating, updating, and deleting GIS data within a multi‑user enterprise environment, applying versioning strategies to manage edits and reconcile changes, using linear referencing tools to maintain and adjust event‑based data, and performing edits with standard ArcGIS Pro tools. The position works under the guidance of the senior specialist and focuses primarily on data validation and supporting the team’s compilation workload.
Responsibilities
Create, update, and delete GIS data in a multi‑user enterprise environment.
Apply versioning strategies to manage edits and reconcile changes.
Use linear referencing tools to maintain and adjust event‑based data.
Perform edits using standard ArcGIS Pro tools.
Support data validation and compilation workload.
Preferred Skills
Hydrography layer work (streams) and understanding of stream network data.
Coursework or project experience in enterprise GIS data management.
Familiarity with data quality assurance workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of relevant GIS experience.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro for data editing and management.
Experience in enterprise linear referencing datasets.
Exposure to branch versioning and multi‑user enterprise environments.
Ability to reconcile changes and manage version conflicts.
Strong attention to detail for data validation work.
Location & Employment
Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. Hybrid role with remote work possible.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range is $30.00 – $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits.
