The Financial Translator plays a critical role in making that possible. This position exists to ensure our clients’ financial data is accurate, current, and reliable, so our senior team can translate the numbers into meaningful insights. If you love working with financial data, spotting patterns, and being trusted to “own the numbers,” this role was built for you. Who We Are Likes Accounting Firm is a growing, fully remote accounting firm that partners with service-based business owners across the U.S. Our culture is rooted in our EPIC values: • Empathetic – We care deeply about people • Proactive – We anticipate needs and act early • Innovative – We improve systems constantly • Curious – We ask great questions and keep learning We believe strong financial data is the foundation for better decisions — and we hire people who take pride in doing things the right way. About the Financial Translator Role This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working inside the books, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring financial data tells a clear, trustworthy story. You will not be responsible for high-pressure client coaching or sales conversations. Instead, you’ll focus on the technical and operational work that allows our team to serve clients at a high level. This is a role with real responsibility and ownership, not an “assistant” position. What You’ll Be Responsible For Core Financial Work • Categorizing transactions weekly for multiple clients • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts monthly • Reviewing financials to ensure accuracy and consistency • Identifying unusual transactions or discrepancies • Preparing journal entries (payroll, allocations, cleanups as needed) Translation Support • Noticing financial patterns and trends in the data • Flagging items that need attention or clarification • Providing clear internal notes and recommendations • Supporting senior team members with clean, reliable data Workflow & Communication • Managing multiple client files with strong organization • Tracking time daily and following internal checklists • Proactively communicating progress, delays, or questions • Participating in weekly 1:1s and team meetings • Completing weekly internal submissions (JotForms, updates) What Success Looks Like After 6–12 months, you are someone who: • Can manage multiple client accounts independently • Delivers consistently accurate work on schedule • Communicates proactively without being chased • Is trusted to keep things moving while leadership is focused elsewhere • Makes the team more efficient simply by being reliable You become someone others rely on — because you own your work. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You… • Love structure, routines, and clear expectations • Take pride in accuracy and clean financials • Are dependable and consistent by nature • Communicate clearly and proactively • Enjoy problem-solving and pattern recognition • Are curious and want to understand the “why” behind the numbers • Prefer behind-the-scenes impact over constant client interaction • Value being trusted and accountable Qualifications Required • Experience with QuickBooks Online • Experience reconciling cash accounts • Strong attention to detail and organization • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Solid written communication skills • Comfort working independently in a remote environment Nice to Have • Prior bookkeeping, accounting support, or operations experience • Familiarity with time tracking or workflow tools Compensation & Perks • $24–28/hour, based on experience and fit • Fully remote work environment • Consistent hours and structured workflows • Supportive, people-first culture • Ongoing training and development • Clear expectations and accountability • A role that truly matters to client success Why People Love Working at LAF • You’re trusted to do your job well • You’re supported, not micromanaged • Your work has a direct impact • You’re part of a team that values accuracy, kindness, and growth If you love turning financial data into clarity, value ownership, and want to be part of a team that genuinely cares — we’d love to meet you.
