We’re looking for a U.S.-based person with lived experience of a physical limitation, disability, chronic illness, or caregiving to help Poplin build an authentic presence in relevant Facebook groups and online communities.
Poplin is a nationwide laundry pickup and delivery service. See poplin.co. For many customers, laundry is not merely inconvenient. It is physically difficult, painful, exhausting, or impossible. We want to participate in the communities where these people already connect, share resources, and support one another.
This is not a spam or promotional posting role. The work requires empathy, judgment, credibility, and transparency.
You would:
- Find and join relevant Facebook groups and online communities
- Participate consistently and contribute useful, thoughtful responses
- Identify conversations where laundry support, physical accessibility, energy conservation, or independent living is relevant
- Mention Poplin only when it could genuinely help
- Clearly disclose your relationship with Poplin when discussing the company
- Build relationships with group admins, caregivers, advocates, and community leaders
- Identify possible partnerships and referral opportunities
- Track activity
- Provide a short weekly report on what worked, what did not, and what to test next
We are not looking for someone to manage Poplin’s social media pages or post generic advertisements. This role is about earning trust inside existing communities and helping people discover a useful service at the right moment.
You should have:
- Lived experience with disability, chronic illness, mobility limitations, pain, fatigue, recovery, or caregiving
- Active participation in Facebook groups or similar online communities
- Strong written communication and sound judgment
- A respectful understanding of disability and chronic illness communities
- The ability to communicate without pity, exaggeration, or medical claims
- Comfort working independently and reporting clearly
To apply, please include:
- The types of communities you currently participate in
- A short description of your relevant lived experience
- A sample response to someone who says, “Laundry has become physically too difficult for me to manage”
- Any experience with community management, advocacy, partnerships, referrals, or grassroots marketing
