Export Specialist- Staples Promotional Products

Join our winning team!    As an Export Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless international shipments, navigating complex regulations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service to our customers. If you’re detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy solving challenges in global logistics, this is your opportunity to grow your career with a leading brand in promotional products.     What you will be doing:  Oversee all aspects of export operations and trade compliance for Staples Promotional Products within the Logistics team  Research country-specific regulations to ensure products meet export requirements prior to shipment  Classify promotional products using Schedule B tariff classifications  Evaluate export limitations including ECCN licensing requirements  Calculate freight, duty, and tax estimates across air, ocean, and ground transportation  Prepare export documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin  Track shipments and resolve customs issues with U.S. CBP and foreign agencies  Prepare AES filings and maintain export records for compliance (5-year retention)  Conduct restricted/denied party screenings and compliance audits  Deliver internal training on export compliance processes  Collaborate with vendors, freight partners, and internal stakeholders  Audit and process carrier invoices    What You Bring to the Table:  Strong knowledge of international trade, export compliance, and global logistics  Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment  Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team  Strong multitasking and prioritization skills  High level of accuracy and attention to detail    What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:  2+ years of relevant warehouse work experience  2+ years experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and vendors  2+ years of experience in international trade and logistics  2+ years proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)    Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in related field  Experience with export documentation, AES filings, and compliance processes  Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities  Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment    We Offer:  Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups  Flexible PTO (22 days) and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays)  Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more!    Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law.
