**Job Summary**
As an experienced Telephone Caller, you will be responsible for making outbound calls to RNIB beneficiaries and supporters, providing them with relevant information, and connecting them with others who share similar experiences. You will work closely with our friendly and supportive team to ensure that individuals receive the support and resources they need to navigate the challenges of sight loss. This is a home-based role, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own space and schedule your calls at times that suit you.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Make outbound calls to RNIB beneficiaries and supporters, providing them with relevant information and connecting them with others who share similar experiences
* Share knowledge of available services, ways to connect with others, and opportunities to play a positive role in removing barriers in society
* Make brief, accurate notes in the customer contact record to support conversation and ensure effective communication
* Work closely with the team to ensure that individuals receive the support and resources they need to navigate the challenges of sight loss
* Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest information and best practices
**Comprehensive Training and Support**
As an experienced Telephone Caller, you will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this role. Our training program includes:
* In-depth training on RNIB services and resources
* Guidance on effective communication and rapport-building skills
* Support and feedback from experienced team members
* Opportunities to connect with other volunteers and colleagues via MS Teams, including social "Kettle catchups"
**Requirements**
* You must be aged 18 or over
* You will need a laptop or PC with access to an RNIB virtual desktop
* Reliable broadband is required for making calls
* You will need a quiet and confidential space at home when making calls
* You must have a friendly, empathetic, and non-judgmental disposition and be able to listen well
* You will need to be confident with IT and have experience of MS Windows and common software
**Additional Information**
* This role is home-based, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own space and schedule your calls at times that suit you
* You will be required to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week for a period of around 6 months
* Calls can be made between 10am and 7pm
* You will have the opportunity to connect with other volunteers and colleagues via MS Teams and participate in regular team meetings and training sessions
